Just when you thought all the kingfisher shots had gone and it was safe to come out... here is a load more!

After looking at all the local kingfisher pics, it gave me the kick up the ass I needed to get out and find one. I started by looking around some off my old 90's fishing haunts and sure enough there was a kingfisher regularly fishing on one of the small gravel pits.
I decided to put up a few perches in a quieter corner of the lake and would monitor them each evening after work. It soon became apparent that three different Kingfishers were visiting the perches to fish.

Whilst waiting for the Kingfishers to arrive, I found time to reminisce about the good old Carp days.

What was commonly known as a Whacker

Long live the king

The king eider that turns up on the Ythan estuary is a bird I've always wanted to photograph after having a brief view a few years ago. So after being told by Mr & Mrs Caley's that it had been reported twice this year I decided to add 3 days to a trip I had planed in Northumbria. This would give me a day to get up to Scotland and two days on the estuary before carrying on down to the  Frarns.
During my two days on the estuary I had two very brief chances to get a few shots and these two chances were both on the first day!

Lets hope the 2019 luck continues 😊

Common Frogs

This is some thing I've wanted to do for a few years but not been able to find the right place until a mate off mine put me on the right spot.
